About
Hello and welcome! Stay awhile, and listen!
For decades, my world has revolved around books. You could often find me lost in the aisles of a local bookstore, nestled in a corner of the library, or sipping coffee at a café with a book in hand. While these scenes remain familiar parts of my life, the way I engage with books has evolved significantly.
This change began in 2009 with the arrival of my first digital e-book reader: the Kindle. E-readers weren't new to me, and the Kindle certainly wasn't the first on the market. Yet, it stood out, reaching what I believe was a critical mass in the market, transforming from a niche gadget to a household name. Today, the Kindle is almost synonymous with digital reading, a testament to its widespread appeal.
Within just a year, about half of my cherished physical book collection had transitioned into its digital form.
My interest in comic books and manga, sparked by friends who were connoisseurs in this realm, always held a special place in my heart. However, in the early days, the digital manga market was just budding, a far cry from its current state. For years, my collection of comics, graphic novels, and manga remained purely physical. It wasn't until much later that manga became readily available on Kindle and other e-ink devices.
Yet, navigating manga on digital platforms comes with its own set of unique challenges or 'quirks,' as I like to call them. Through this site, I aim to delve into these peculiarities, offering insights, tips, and discussions for fellow enthusiasts. So, whether you're a seasoned manga reader or just starting to explore this fascinating world, I hope to make your digital reading journey a little smoother.
